Acorn

Eastern Screech Owl

Found along a roadside in Georgia, Acorn was brought to a local rehabilitation facility where it was discovered that he was severely malnourished and missing his right eye. Initially, it was believed that his missing eye was the result of a car collision, the most common cause of injury for raptors. However, upon further examination, rehabilitators determined that Acorn was most likely born without his eye. This condition made it difficult for him to hunt and survive in the wild. As a result, Acorn was deemed non-releasable and, after his time in rehab, was transferred to Raptor Hallow Sanctuary. Now, Acorn serves as an ambassador for his species and is often a fan favorite due to his small size!
