    The Eurasian Eagle Owl has large, tufted "ears," bright orange or yellow eyes, and a round, pale face. Its mottled brown and gray plumage provides excellent camouflage, and its legs are feathered down to the talons.

    The Eurasian Eagle Owl feeds on small mammals (like rodents and hares), birds, and occasionally larger animals such as foxes or young deer.

    On average, they grow to be 24-30 inches in length with a wingspan of 5-6.5 feet. They weigh between 3-9 pounds.

The Eurasian Eagle Owl has a powerful grip—its talons can exert a force of over 500 pounds per square inch, allowing it to capture and kill prey much larger than itself, including foxes and other birds of prey!
