Puke

Turkey Vulture

Puke and his sibling were found after a barn was demolished, trapping them beneath the rubble. Unable to reach the nest, their mother could not relocate the chicks, so wildlife rehabilitators raised them. When it came time to release them, his sibling joined wild vultures, but Puke wandered the grounds for days. After several unsuccessful release attempts, it was determined that Puke had unfortunately become imprinted on humans during his time at rehab. He was deemed non-releasable and transferred to a wildlife education center in New York. In May of 2020, Puke was transferred to Raptor Hallow Sanctuary, where he now serves as an ambassador, teaching visitors about turkey vultures.
